Shear Harmony Hair
Low maintenance balayage and babylight hair specialist
When I first started doing color I couldn’t realize why certain appointments went sour. I mean, I had what I thought was a thorough consultation and asked all the right questions. So I asked myself, what could I do better…
Just kidding. I bought into the “well you just can’t please everybody” concept that lots of people fall into- and I lived there for a while.
But it’s exhausting to be a victim of every new circumstance that you’re sure to encounter. I discovered that many times hair jargon gets in the way- and things discussed that I “checkmarked” during consultations needed to be cross referenced to ensure my client and I were on the same page.
So is it perfect every time now? No, that’s unrealistic- but are my success rates better? 100% yes. And at least now I have a paper trail of things discussed, which sets me and my new client up for success and way ahead of the game!
Experience appointment disappointment? Guess what, it probably started before the color ever touched your hair.
Most clients think they’re bad at explaining what they want, but you’re actually pretty good at it! You’ve just never had someone translate the other side of the conversation with you.
That’s why I separate consultations from appointments. I’m not just looking at your inspo photo, I’m breaking down what you’re actually drawn to- brightness, contrast, placement, maintenance, and overall vibe.
DM me “MATCH” to fill out my online digital consult where I’ll help guide you to the right service ❤️✨
I mean where is the lie? Good yaps, good hair, good bites 🤌🏼 If you aren’t in therapy rn, what are we doing friend? I’m just trying to help you out
Wanna dance with somebody? Balayage has a dance card with your name on it! See you soon for your appointment xo

Thoughts and prayers to all my color clients—I’ve been absolutely unhinged lately. Just know that when you’re one day with another hairstylist staring in the mirror wondering why your hair will never hit like this again… I did try to warn you.
My sincerest apologies for giving you your dream color. What can I say? We really had a moment.
Mylan’s before and after. Maintenance for her balayage is roughly every 9 months and haircut is an estimated 12 weeks.
Feel inspired, empowered, and supported with your visit. Clients, if you ever have any questions, you’re only a message away xo 😘
My brain is basically cross referencing everything you say 1. To make sure it’s logistically possible and 2. To ensure that when you say X it translates as X and not Y.
Clients, y’all are so much better at communicating than what you guys typically give yourself credit for. As long as you have someone who asks all the right questions, you are good to go 🤗
Client affirmation: I know what I want and am able to communicate what I want effectively. When I make those efforts, I don’t have to fear saying the wrong thing to get my hair needs met :)

What do you think is Morgan’s natural color? Doesn’t matter, does it?! She’s blonde in my book ✨🤌🏼 😍

Bright blondies, here’s what no one else is telling you!
✨ Moisturizing shampoo is a must
✨ Mask for at least the next few washes after receiving highlight services
✨ Detangling gently with a wet brush is a general rule for everyone but a non-negotiable for you
✨ Avoid over layering your hair if you are also trying to grow it out
✨ Rough dry your hair to 90% dry before drying with a round brush
✨ Incorporate a leave in cream or serum into your morning or evening routine
✨ Especially for fine hair or tangly hair types, wear a silk scrunchie pony loosely to sleep in

Holiday hair tip! To save time curling your hair, isolate a front, medium section on each side of your part and curl. Then roughly divide the remaining hair into four sections (left front and back + right front and back), six if you have extra thick hair. Then curl the mid lengths to ends for each of the four sections. You’ll feel and look so polished and only having spent five minutes curling your hair!
