The brow transformation I can’t stop thinking about 🥹✨

May was referred to me by her hairstylist & came in open to something new. She shared that she was ready for a fresh shape that's easy to maintain, so we talked through options & created a look that’ll do just that.

It’s always an honor when someone trusts me to create something that feels new to them. Since this shape was a shift from what May was used to, I kept the color & saturation light to help her ease into it. This keeps the healing process feeling gradual & comfy... not overwhelming or in complete "brow shock" when waking up on day two 🫣

While mapping, I noticed some hair she’d been maintaining underneath her brows. Once we talked it through, she felt good about including it in her new shape & it ended up framing her features beautifully 😍

Over the next few weeks, May will let those hairs grow in, only cleaning up anything outside of the new outline. At her touch-up, we’ll deepen the color & build more density around her natural growth. I can’t wait to see how it all settles in!

"Slicing??" "Cutting??" Save it for the pumpkins 🎃, not your cutie brows 🫶

Not to get too spooky here, but... "slicing + cutting" is the reality of what's happening to your skin when an artist uses a manual microblading technique as opposed to a tattoo machine method. Even the most talented of artists can only perform a manual blading technique a few times before running the risk of their client developing scar tissue.

This is one of the many reasons I do *not* use manual hand tools in my treatment room. The hair strokes you see pictured in this photo were created using a machine method of tattooing AKA Nano Brows 🙌

A machine works by rotating a needle up and down, depositing small dots of pigment along the way to create the illusion of lines and shadows.

In contrast, manual microblading uses a hand tool to create fine, hair-like incisions in the skin, into which pigment is deposited.

Every skin type and natural brow pattern is unique. Which is why I love the versatility of using a machine as it's suitable for all skin types and textures!

One evening in October, Malorie reached out to inquire about permanent cosmetics after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Between navigating a double mastectomy and preparing to start chemotherapy, we only had about a two-week window to get her in.

My schedule was completely booked, but I was so moved by the battle this sweet momma was undergoing that after tucking in my own babies to bed that evening, I sent her a late message:
“I’ve been thinking about your story since we got off the phone... If you’d like to move forward, I’d be honored to offer this service at no cost."

She said yes. Though I was offering her this gift, SHE is the one who has been giving ever since 🫶✨️

A couple months after her initial visit, I received a box of new wigs from another dear client of mine who hoped they could be donated to someone in need. Malorie came to mind, as I knew she'd help me make the right connections! And, without hesitation, she generously offered to coordinate the donation. She personally delivered them to the Cancer Center to support other women walking through similar chapters.

Because that’s just who Malorie is; thoughtful & generous 🫶

We kept in touch throughout her treatments, and finally, in June, we were reunited after she received the “all clear” from her doctor for her eyebrow touch-up session 🥳

Even on her hardest days, Malorie continues to make space to share her story as it helps others understand their risk, ask the right questions, and push for answers.

When I asked her, “What’s one thing you'd like to share with others?” It’s this:

“You DO have a say in your narrative. You CAN choose your path in this. Know your risk, know your family history, and please, please advocate for yourself.”
