As a kid growing up in New Orleans LA, I knew by the age of 10 what I wanted to do with my life. I loved playing in my hair and anybody else who was brave enough to let me. By the time I was 13 I had a small clientele and did hair right out of my grandmother kitchen. That was my side hustle than, and now today as a adult woman, it is my full time Passion!! Confession of a guilty runner🤦🏽♀️ I ran today because I was so inspired by all the runners yesterday at the Turkey Trot but I also ran because I felt guilty about all the thanksgiving food I’ve been eating in the last two days and we still have some left, plus I have a raspberry jelly filled donut waiting for me and my daughter baked a cake with chocolate icing🤦🏽♀️😋
I’m not gone lie, I will eat that donut and a piece of cake 🤷🏽♀️ before the night ends. I will run again tomorrow but this time I won’t feel guilty about it.
Sometimes you just got to enjoy life a little and if it means eating until your stomach is about to burst, then so be it. Just don’t stay there. I’ll be back on track come Sunday🤞🏽Until then, baby it’s going down! 🙃
If I had a trainer they would probably fired me 🤣🤣

Doing my time of journaling through some really tough times of detaching and self development….for the last couple of months I’ve been stuck on this term “self actualization” and I do believe it’s something we’re all striving for.
But some of the things we are striving for will not happen over night.
It will take time to become a PEACEFUL person if, for the last 10-15-30 years you’ve been someone that reacted differently when triggered.
It will take time to show up as a HEALED person if, for more than half your life you’ve been sick, oppressed, depressed or unhealed.
It will take time to DETACH or UNLEASH if you’ve been someone for the last 20 plus years co-depending on someone else.
But celebrate yourself and applaud yourself for taking those steps toward becoming your highest self.
Keep going. You’re doing great!

I LOVE living in my feminine energy. It’s the softest place I can create from and be in tune with my intuition.
I also love going after my dreams and working hard and a lot of times that is where living soft turns into a place of living hard and running yourself in the ground-because of the grind.
But, it’s hard to be creative in a space that’s always hard….
It’s hard to have empathy for yourself and others….
It’s hard to be gentle with yourself and in tune with your emotions….
Living in your soft and feminine energy so sexy, so sensual and so powerful.
You can still get the job done, make the dreams come true and hit all your goals, just more in an environment that is relaxing and forgiving.
Some ways to cultivate feminine energy and operate from a place of softness is to…
Practice self-care. Nurture your relationships, meditate, engage in creative pursuits or other spiritual practices. Work on self development, self awareness and self trust.
Living soft is NOT about being submissive or weak but rather about embracing the strengths and power that come with femininity.
Men can live here too!
Just my thoughts 💭

Writing down my thoughts about my life experiences has been one of the greatest healing processes for me.
Writing is healing. Writing is healing. Writing is healing. I wish y’all can hear me screaming this. It’s a safe place to be vulnerable without judgement.
Writing allows you to be real about your circumstances, how you feel about yourself or someone else. My writing practice has helped me to unpack unhealthy patterns and create a new story for my life. It has shaped me and holds space for me to show up in all my mess all while saving space for gratitude and the acknowledgment of how far I’ve come.
I wish I could teach everyone the steps on how to start writing for healing. I’m not saying this should take the place of your therapist because Lord knows I can use one. But I am saying, in conjunction with your therapist, writing can be another gateway to your healing process.
This is your life we’re talking about and only you know how you can truly heal and one thing I’ve learned from listening to others is that they don’t tell their therapist everything. So what you’re not telling your therapist, write it down. Go to the blank pages raw and honest and find some release. And while you’re there, ask God to lead and guy you than give Him thanks🙏🏾

This journey is all mine. The ups and downs. The good and bad. The back and forward. I have failed and succeeded. I have learned from mistakes and made some of the same mistakes that needed more practice. I am not perfect and I’m not always right. I don’t know it all and at times I feel lost. Life is such a sport that I’m always in training. I’ve stopped and started over a million times. Life is not linear and our paths aren’t always straight and hardly ever consistent. This is a constant reminder that we never have it all together or figured out. We get a chance everyday to become…to make a difference… to show up- even if we have to detour along the way.
Everyone’s journey will look different from yours. Embrace your path and be patient with yourself even if you’re crawling or stumbling your way through.
