Here I am simply blow drying my baby’s hair and she says, “Mommy, I want my hair to be shiny and longer.”

As a hairstylist, I immediately understood what she was really telling me. She wants to continue seeing her hair thrive in a healthy way. That moment sparked a conversation where I began teaching her more about her hair, how it grows, how to care for it, and how we maintain strong, healthy strands.

You don’t have to be a hairstylist to instill beauty knowledge into your children, but it is so important to cultivate confidence through personal care. You have no idea how far reaching it is to teach your kids early about their hair, nails, and skin. It plays a huge role in how they will feel about themselves as they grow into adults.

So have those sweet little conversations. Let them share what they like about themselves and what they want to see in themselves. As mothers, teach them how to achieve it.

That is how we raise confident little girls who grow into confident women. ❤️
