Healwell
Touch. Teach. Advocate. We touch people affected by illness. We teach massage therapists how to provide care safely and effectively.
We advocate for access to that care and for a broader role for massage therapists in healthcare. We all do better when we all do better. Effective, human-centered care is far from standard. Healwell partnerships provide care that prioritizes personal connection, quality of life and outcomes that are valuable from both the patient and provider perspective. We know that this kind of care does not ex

How often do we stop to question the assumptions we make in our work?
At Body & Soul: A Healwell Homecoming, Nicole Trombley invites us to do just that with The Big "Fat Agenda": Rethinking How We Touch Fat.
This thought-provoking session challenges massage therapists to examine common beliefs about fat, explore the science behind adipose tissue, and consider how bias can influence the therapeutic experience. You'll leave with practical insights for providing more skillful, inclusive, and compassionate care to clients of every body.
If you're ready to expand your clinical thinking, challenge old narratives, and grow as a practitioner, you won't want to miss this conversation.
Join us October 23–24 in Arlington, VA for a weekend of learning, restoration, and connection.

Today is **Chronic Disease Day**, a day to recognize the millions of people living with chronic illness and to honor the strength, resilience, and support that help them navigate each day.
Living with a chronic disease often means facing challenges that others can't always see. A kind word, a trusted friend, a dedicated caregiver, or a supportive community can make all the difference.
💙 **Today's Challenge:**
Show your support by sharing **who motivates you to be your strongest self and live your best life.** Tag them in the comments or tell us why they inspire you!
Let's celebrate the people who remind us that we don't have to face life's challenges alone.

July is Disability Pride Month, and this year's theme says it beautifully:
The World Works Better with Us.
Disability is a natural part of the human experience, and our communities are stronger when everyone is welcomed, valued, and included. Every person deserves to be seen, heard, respected, and supported—not despite disability, but with the recognition that disabled people enrich our workplaces, healthcare systems, neighborhoods, and lives.
This month, we celebrate the contributions, leadership, creativity, and resilience of the disability community while recognizing the ongoing work to remove barriers and create a world where accessibility and belonging are the standard—not the exception.
Because the world truly works better when everyone has the opportunity to participate fully.
Happy Disability Pride Month. 💚

This Fourth of July, we celebrate 250 years of the ongoing American story—its ideals, its progress, and the people who continue the work of building a more perfect union. 🇺🇸
As we mark this milestone anniversary, we reflect on the freedoms we enjoy, the sacrifices that made them possible, and the responsibility we share to ensure those freedoms are accessible to all.
Today, we raise a glass to freedom—to community, to hope, and to the belief that caring for one another makes us stronger.
Wishing you a safe and meaningful Independence Day celebration.
🥂 Raise a glass to freedom.

Not all adaptations are obvious.
How do you adjust pressure for someone experiencing treatment-related neuropathy? What changes when lymphedema risk is present? How do you respond to fatigue, radiation changes, surgical history, ports, or bone metastases?
These are the kinds of questions we explore in our in-person Oncology Massage Workshop.
This isn't just a review of concepts. It's an opportunity to practice clinical reasoning, refine hands-on skills, and learn how to make thoughtful adaptations that support safety, comfort, and effectiveness.
Participants spend three days:
✔ Practicing hands-on adaptations
✔ Exploring techniques for lymphedema risk and treatment effects
✔ Strengthening intake and communication skills
✔ Participating in a live client clinic experience
✔ Building confidence through guided practice and feedback
Because knowing *that* an adaptation is needed is only the beginning. Learning *how* to adapt is where confidence grows.
