The Truth About Brow Pigment vs. Natural Hair: A Brow Correction Story ✨
The Client's Journey:
When this lovely client came to see me, she was struggling with a very common situation: her natural brow hairs are on the thinner side, but the previous permanent makeup design she had received was drawn much wider than her natural growth pattern. Now that the old pigment is fading, the mismatch has become highly visible.
Why Does This Mismatch Happen? (The Science of Brow Shadow):
To understand why old, faded work can look obvious, we have to look at how light interacts with our skin:
Natural Hair has volume, texture, and a brighter, reflective color because it sits on top of the skin.
Microblading/Pigment is deposited under the first layer of the skin. Because the skin covers the pigment to keep it in place, it loses its shine, has an opaque finish, and has absolutely no volume.
When you have areas of pigmentation that are not covered by your natural hair, the contrast in texture and reflection shows the difference.
The Silver Lining & My Expert Advice:
The wonderful news is that having a beautifully tailored pigment shape still gives you an incredible structural frame that enhances your facial features!
