Coaching to change lives - ways to eat better, drink better, use products better to make you overall
I often get told that eating grass-fed meat is expensive. Look at this: A famous candy bar with peanut nougat costs $1.23/oz. A pound of grass fed ground beef, at $8/lb is $.50 per ounce. That's fifty cents per ounce ! Not to mention the money you'll save at the doctor's office because you are eating what your body actually needs!!
Reading a great article from Harvard Health on processed food. The quote below is talking about the impact on ultra-processed foods:
"About 678,000 Americans die each year from chronic food illness. That toll is higher than all our combat deaths in every war in American history—combined. That’s right: there are more deaths each year from our food than all the combat deaths from the Revolutionary War through the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq."
FOOD CHANGES EVERYTHING! For better or worse, to death do you part...
I saw this quote today and thought it was brilliant!
“...make the best choice from the choices you have. Someone told me once that the chemicals released by the body when you stress or condemn yourself do more harm than the one time poor choice that you make.”
So, if you are trying to eat better, don't beat yourself up if you slip. You are human after all. Don't do more harm by stressing about it! Just do better next time! In Health, Jayne
Recent research suggests that 95% of the last advisory committee for America’s top nutrition policy, the U.S. Dietary Guidelines, had at least one tie with a food or pharmaceutical company. More than half the committee had 30 such ties or more, and one member had 151 ties. Is it any wonder we are so confused on food guidelines and what to eat?
How is winter treating you so far? Here in North Texas, last week was freezing ice everywhere, today? 66 for a high! Rest of the week: upper 50s to 60s.

Follow Friday. Dr. Peter Attia is a leader in the anti-aging world. Here, he discusses hormone replacement therapy and the Women's Health Intiative Study from the 90s that stopped women from taking hormones. I love how he says, at 28 seconds in: "it is hands down the biggest screw up of the entire medical field in the last 25 years". And then goes on to explain why women SHOULD take hormone replacement therapy! It's a great listen!

I often hear from clients that they "eat healthy" because they don't eat red meat. When in fact, red meat (grass-fed only) is some of the most nutrient dense food on the planet!
Just had my 61st birthday! And along with it, an annual check up with my doctor! He told me I am the healthiest 61 year old he's ever seen! You CAN age without disease!!

A fellow health advocate posted this and I'm reposting!
This is so true! I tell my clients that losing weight is a lifestyle change, not a diet. Which means that you have to deal with weekends, birthdays, holidays, celebrations of all types - ALL the time which means you have to learn to eat differently for everything. Thoughts?
Do you listen to your gut? I mean, really listen? The other day I went grocery shopping and I came home with all red foods. Raspberries, Pommegranite, & Salmon. Ok, Salmon is pink, but you get my drift.
Believe it or not, our gut bacteria control our lives. Our emotions, our cravings for food, brain fog, the health of our gut. Those red foods were something my gut bacteria were craving. I'm glad I listened!
