Behind the chair today, I was reminded that…

A client said they trusted me, and it stuck with me. Because really, being a hairstylist isn’t just about hair — it’s about building comfort and trust. That’s why I love what I do.

If you’ve been thinking about getting that certain haircut. Just do it!

We only live once and the beautiful thing is we can express ourselves with a fun haircut.

What do you think?!

Most people think we play with hair, but the truth is we are skilled cosmetologists. When you are in my chair, I always listen, observe and give my expert advice. If you’ve struggled with being heard, let’s talk about it at your next appointment.

Not a hobby. A career. There I said it…

You don’t need someone else’s routine.

You need inspiration & education.

A new client retuned for her second haircut this week. After having years with the same old thing and no inspiration I was able to create a cut she loved. She was inspired by what we created together. She’s been having fun styling her hair and feeling like she doesn’t have an old frumpy Mom look.

After being behind the chair for 20 years, the most important thing I’ve learned is to really listen.

If you have a hairstylist, that’s changed your life. I’d love to hear your story from beyond the mirror.

20 years behind the chair have taught me so much! Here’s what I know for sure it takes a special kind of human to do this job.

Hair changes. Trends change. But being driven doesn’t.

Another day showing up as the woman I dreamed of becoming.

From behind the chair to becoming an author and sharing my story on TV. This moment
reminded me how powerful it is when women believe in themselves.

Celebrating women everywhere who are building, creating, and showing up every day. 💫

Some posts are harder to share than others.
For a long time, I didn’t feel comfortable in my own body. I felt stuck in it, frustrated with it, and honestly a little sad about it too.
Two years ago I stumbled across Grow with Jo on YouTube. I just needed something that would get me moving. Nothing extreme. Nothing intimidating. Just a place to start.
And I did.
What began as a simple workout became something much bigger for me. Moving my body became part of protecting my mental health. It became a boundary. A form of self-care. A way of showing up better for my family, my work, and myself.
In Beyond The Mirror I talk a lot about growth not just professionally, but personally. Learning how to take care of ourselves so we don’t burn out in the lives and careers we love.
Jo once said it’s called “Grow with Jo” because she’s growing too.
That stuck with me.
Because none of us are finished masterpieces. We’re all just works in progress growing as we go.
This video is just a sped-up workout.
But for me, it represents two years of choosing myself.
And I’m really grateful I started.
Thank you, Jo. 🤍

was the perfect spot for some big-picture planning.
Beyond The Mirror has been five years in the making (but who’s counting?). I poured my whole heart into these pages the good days, the hard days, and everything behind the chair that most people never see.
Now my goal is simple and big.
I don’t want this book to live only within my circle of family and friends.
I want it in cosmetology schools.
I want students to feel prepared before they ever take their first client.
I want stylists everywhere to feel seen.
I want to be talking about our industry on podcasts, on stages, in rooms where we’re usually not invited.
This is a marathon not a sprint.
And I’m in it for the long run.
Next week I’m being interviewed by a local station… and we’re just getting started.
Also 10/10 recommend the chocolate anything at . The staff is always so kind, which makes dreaming there even sweeter.
If you’re a stylist, this book was written for you. 🤍
