Hair Oil: Myth vs. Truth ✨

One of the biggest haircare myths I hear is: “Oil will make my hair heavy and greasy.”

The truth? The right oil, used the right way, can be one of the best finishing steps in your haircare routine.

I love applying a small amount of oil to the mid-lengths and ends, especially before bed. It helps smooth the hair, reduce frizz and friction, add shine, and protect those fragile ends from everyday brushing and even rubbing against your pillow while you sleep.

And another important distinction:

MYTH: Hair oil moisturizes your hair.
TRUTH: Hair oil helps seal in the moisture that’s already there. Think of it as the finishing step that helps keep your hair soft, smooth and protected.

After 23 years behind the chair, I pay attention when I start seeing the same concern over and over and lately, I have had SO many clients experiencing significant hair shedding and thinning while using GLP-1s.

GLP-1s can be an amazing tool, but rapid weight loss, decreased calories and not getting enough protein or nutrients can contribute to increased shedding.

Here’s what I recommend:
