Fashion shoots are funny because sometimes the outfit, the pose, the styling… none of it is supposed to make sense for your everyday life. And that’s literally the point. You’re not getting dressed for dinner. You’re building a frame, a mood, a character, a little world for one shot.

And this is exactly why I love shooting with Sarah Rachel.

She’s organized without making the day feel organized. 😂 There’s a plan, there’s a vision, we know what we’re shooting… but somehow there’s still room for “wait, what if we do THIS?” every five minutes.

Move the chair. Lose the jacket. Put it back on. Get on the bed. Try the sunglasses. Change the light. Do the pose. 😂 Huh!
If it might make a good photo, we’re trying it.

And from the model side, that freedom makes such a difference. I don’t want to feel like I’m just standing on an X waiting for someone to tell me where to put my hand. Give me the concept, give me the camera, and let’s create something.

Sarah is one of those photographers who gives direction without directing the life out of the shot. Creative, easy, zero judgment, down to experiment… but still knows exactly what she’s doing.

Basically: professional enough to have a plan, creative enough to completely abandon it when the better shot shows up. 😌📸
