~Phase 2~

I’m happy to announce that as of Friday, May 22nd, we will be cleared to reopen salons here in NC! Of course there will be some new guidelines that we didn’t have before, but be assured everything we do is for the health and safety of everyone! This will be a process of learning the new normal and figuring out our new schedule and procedures, so please be patient as we get everything figured out! I will be serving the clients who already had standing appointments prior to the lockdown first! Everyone else who wants an appointment will be added to a waiting list until spots become available. This ensures that everyone is served fairly and in an orderly manner. I know this isn’t ideal but I assure you, I will try to make everything as efficient as possible! I have missed being behind the chair so much and I cannot wait to get back! I miss every single one of my clients dearly!! If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please contact me! I will post updates as they come!

~Safety~

I am now Barbicide-Covid-19 certified! I was already Barbicide certified but decided to get re-certified under the new guidelines of Covid-19. If you don’t know what Barbicide is, it’s the hospital grade disinfected that we use to disinfect every implement, tool, and surface after every service. Not only is this required for every salon and hairstylist, we use it to fully ensure the health and safety of every client that we service. Especially with this new normal we are going to have, we are all taking the extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone. I have always kept everything clean and disinfected for my clients, for that’s what I was taught in school, but once we are allowed back, I will make sure that I thoroughly and thoughtfully take every precaution necessary to protect the health and safety of everyone. I can’t wait to get back to the salon, see my clients and help make them feel pampered and beautiful!

It felt SO good to draw this! I haven’t drawn in a while. I definitely got to satisfy my artistic side more than I’ve really been able to lately! I think drawing the hair was the most satisfying part of this whole thing lol.

~Changes~

I’ve decided to rebrand my social media. Yes, Allen is my name, but the majority of my life, I’ve been called AJ. This has been my nickname since birth that all of my family and friends have called me. For whatever reason, when I hit high school, I decided to go by my first name. I thought it sounded more “grown up” and “professional”. That may be true but it just hasn’t really felt right since. I felt like I had two lives as strange as that sounds. But being a hairstylist is a huge part of who I am, so I may as well be all of me. The name AJ makes me think of family and friends and the bond we all share and that’s exactly what being a hairstylist means to me. New connections that turn into friends and family ❤️. Here’s to new beginnings 🍻.

Today is national day. Everyone has been severely effected by Covid-19 in one way or another. One of the best ways to help each other is by support. Whether it’s a review, prebooking an appointment, telling others about your stylist, or buying products. Anything and everything helps. One good thing about all of this is I believe this is bringing people together and making people more aware of the impact we can have. I miss everyone of my clients dearly and can’t wait to make y’all feel your best again ❤️. Our governor made the announcement that he will be starting phase 1 of reopening May 8th. I was hoping that would be for us as well, but unfortunately, we won’t start to open until phase 2. This will be more towards the end of May. But nonetheless, there are still many ways we can support each other. My home salon, Beautiful Chaos Salon, is doing curbside pickup for products tomorrow if you would like to support us! I know we all will be able to come back from this stronger than ever! Until then, love and good vibes to every one of you, we can’t wait to see you again back at the salon! •

~ sassy and classy ~

Here’s an updo I done a while back on a mother of the bride ❤️ it’s an oldie but a goodie! This woman has such a bright and cheerful spirit! She can cut up and be perfectly civil, whatever is necessary for the moment! She wanted a simple messy bun type of style and that’s what she got. It was so much fun being behind the scenes of a wedding being able to create what the client desired for such an important day! I look forward to, hopefully, many more weddings in the future! •

I’m working on revamping my page and how I do my photos! If this style of photo is something y’all like, let me know in the comments! •

We started with a love of box dye, and ended with a drop dead gorgeous babe! With lots of love and a few hours, we got rid of the old and it's nothing but up for this beauty! Who's ready to make the switch? 🤩
