Who's going to tell the dahlias that the season is ending? I'm not...

Today was my final big harvest of this season I think. Then, it's on to all the things I need to finish doing before I dig them up and store them for next year.

Sometimes, you have to suit up and cut a few more dahlias in the rain. But, I'd say it was worth it! Today's subscription bouquets are excellent.

If you want flowers this weekend, it's the final weekend of PYO! $20 to fill a cup with as many flowers as you can fit. Cups, snips, water, and directions are in the flower stand for you. Luckily, it seems like you all will get to pick flowers and stay dry!

The zinnias have not been getting enough attention.

This Weekend at RFF

It's been a full week around here, and I'm sure it has been for many of you as well, with the fair, homecoming activities, cool weather, and the worst part of the season: sickness. Ugh! We'll let the good outweigh the bad, though, and remember the thrills. The biggest thrill being that the kids won a couple (yes, couple, as in TWO) hermit crabs at the fair. So, welcome to McBlossom and Chompers, the newest members of the Robey circus, I mean family.

As for the flowers, the field is both looking scrumptious and finished all at the same time. Celosia is going to seed, which makes it look a big dingy. Snapdragons have just had enough and are catching their own sicknesses. And the perennials are hunkering down and prepping themselves for next year. The dahlias, zinnias, strawflower, and cosmos are all still going strong and looking beautiful as ever! So, come get them while they're still here! I'm thinking we'll have two weekends left of PYO before I shut things down for the year. Here's the plan:

SEPT. 25-27 - OPEN! I'll have a few bouquets available in the flower stand Friday by 3pm and PYO is open and available all weekend! For those of you with homecoming orders, please remember that pick up begins around 11am on Saturday!

Oct. 2-4 - OPEN! FINAL PYO WEEKEND!! It's also the final weekend for subscription bouquets (if you have a bouquet subscription and you haven't seen my emails, this is a date change!!!). If I have extra flowers after subscription bouquets are put together, I'll open the stand with grab n go bouquets.

Oct. 9-11 - This weekend is all up in the air and dependant on the weather and how the plants & flowers are holding up! If a hard frost hasn't hit and the flowers still look good, I'll have The Flower Stand open with bouquets beginning on Friday and until Sunday or sold out. There will not be PYO this weekend.
