I specialize in Trigger Point Therapy- a technique to treat intense muscle pain and tension for rapid relief.
First, I use warming, broad strokes to begin to relax the tissues in a general body region, say, the neck. During this phase I am also perceiving any irregularities that may be trigger points in the muscles. These present as pea-sized dots or lumps in muscle tissue. Once the area has been warmed up, I apply gentle, persistent, static pressure directly to the trigger points, moving along the entire length of any affected muscle and eliminating these points one by one. This technique often achieves nearly instantaneous results of relief and dissolution of muscle tension upon it's successful application.
