Rustic Roots Salon

This little beauty shop has breathed so much life over the last 8 years. It has been so much more than just a place to do hair. It has been a place to laugh, to cry, to pray, to love. It’s been a place to raise my kids and be a mom, all while being able to make money to provide for them.

It has been everything I’ve needed it to be and more and closing the doors is bitter sweet. My husband and I have always wanted to live in a place that has land, a creek, wildlife. Somewhere that my son can hunt and my daughter can explore and read a book near a stream. All four of us are very excited to say that we have found such a place. Although we still haven’t closed on the house yet, we have possibly gotten ours sold & are in the process of purchasing the other. If all goes well we will be moving sometime in the next 4-6 weeks.

With that being said, I have been doing hair for 19 years. I am nowhere near ready to hang up my apron yet. So I will begin a new chapter on March 11th @ A Touch of Blush on the square in downtown Athens. I’m super excited to be back in a salon with other stylists and I am so grateful they are accommodating me. Nothing will change with any of you guys. You still book through me, pay me, and i still set my own prices and hours. The only thing that changes for yall is the place. I will be in touch with each and every client in the coming weeks with the address. Thank you all so much for sticking with me and I can’t wait to see you all at my new workplace!

If you have an appointment scheduled with me, would you please give me a 24 hour notice of cancellation or if you need to reschedule? Most do, but I am having too many no shows and last minute cancellations.

I really don’t want to start requiring a deposit upon booking, but if this persists i wont have a choice. Im trying everything to keep my prices affordable for everyone and i dont want everyone to suffer because i have some that aren’t being conciderate.

Thank you guys so much for your business and all of my loyal clients/friends so much! I love each and every one of you! I do understand emergencies happen, people wake up sick and that can’t be helped. I will understand that for sure. However, I do need time to try to fill your spot if you are able to give me a notice. ❤️

I’m going to try something new and it may be temporary if it doesn’t work out. So many of my clients work the same hours I do and it’s so hard to get them in.

So I am going to start taking clients from 4-9pm on some available Mondays & see how that goes. (With the exception of the 2nd since it’s a holiday. I’ll replace that day with Friday the 6th)

I will be closed Wednesday the 10th through Sunday the 14th for Vacation. I will not be doing any scheduling during that time. I will get back with everyone on Monday the 15th. 🙂

In the 18 years I have been doing hair I have come across a need in the community that would be an easy one to meet. I get calls all the time of the elderly needing someone to come to their home to cut their hair. Usually when I get there many of them aren’t able to wash their own hair and they are in desperate need for not only a haircut, but also a good shampoo. Without a proper place to wash their hair I can usually only cut it. It’s such a simple thing, but until you have to go without being able to wash your own hair it’s hard to understand just how agonizing and awful you feel without it.

With that being said, I have bought a portable shampoo bowl and I now have everything I need to start doing house calls for people in need. I only have limited times available. Most of these appointments will be booked on Mondays and if I have cancellations throughout the week I can fill those spots with mobile appointments as well. I am going to post a price list for this service below.
