Relaxation You Can Afford To Enjoy! On November 3, 2003, We opened our doors to a permanent new home located in Athens, Texas. As a French Canadian, Ms. Wylie has an insatiable love for all things "French and Parisian". Owning her own location has been a long awaited dream come true for owner Chantal Valley-Wylie. Since its inception in '93, when Ms. Wylie returned home to Athens, she grew a strong determination and tenacity to make her career as a Massage Therapist very successful. Prior locations include two local salons, one of which was located on S. Prairieville 20 years ago, and three private offices. Each new location was a progress in the right direction. At her last location Ms. Wylie remembers telling her loyal clientele that her next location would be just as pretty and peaceful but with better parking, more square footage, added services, and a mortgage rather than a landlord. The Retreat's new home is that plus so much more. The new location, formerly known as Williams Advertising and Peas On Earth, was previously owned by Don and Mary Lou Williams. When the Williams' purchased the building 28 years ago, they did a lot of major construction and structural repairs and kept the building in sound condition. This allowed Ms. Wylie to do a cosmetic makeover inside and out in just 34 days. Each room has a different accent. Hailey & Kristen Our Dynamic Skin Care Duo, & Licensed Facialist, whose room has a Paris Haute-Couture look. Jeremiah & Stephanie have a delicate, Rose theme for their room; Rhonda One Of Our Licensed Massage Therapist, has a warm Vineyard theme in her couples massage room and so does the Spa's kitchen; Kendra & Sharon, Licensed Massage Therapists, chose the tropical Palmetto theme for their room; Chantal Wylie, Licensed Massage Therapist and owner, has the tranquil Magnolia theme in her own room, and the waiting room and La Toilette are done in a serene Paris theme. The outside color scheme is called "The Gathering Place" and that is exactly what "The Retreat" is all about, a place for people to gather, take refuge from the hostile environment, retreat from their stress filled lives, and take time to have someone else care for them. At The Retreat, each staff member is an independent contractor working toward the same goals; to do what they love and love what they do, to offer unsurpassed quality service and give adequate quantity time to each client, to go beyond the call of duty to pamper each client, to keep our services affordably priced, to maintain a peacefully quiet and serene atmosphere, and to do all this in an immaculate environment. The Retreat offers quality services such as: Massage, Serenity Hot Stone Massage, Body Brushing, Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Complete Bscial, Facial, Microderm, Brow/ Lash Lift & Tint, & Waxing Services, Couples Massages, and Local Office/Business Chair Massage. The Retreat can accommodate up to six clients/services at a time and therefore caters to individuals and small groups only. The Retreat has no receptionist, no ringing phone, and all services with each staff member is by private appointment only. The Retreat chooses to do business the old fashioned way to maintain its small town atmosphere, to preserve its serene atmosphere, and most of all, to provide safety and privacy to its well deserving clientele. Flowers and balloons can be arranged with Expressions Florist our neighbor who was voted "Best Florist" in Athens, and lunch can be arranged with The Cherry Laurel, voted the "Best Cake Shop" in Henderson Country and also our neighbor. We also can personally hand deliver (locally only) or mail our gift cards for that small town service for your special someone.
