Flight Nurse 🚁 Sharing my REAL fitness journey to the bodybuilding stage 💪🏼

01/20/2024

Trying to get back to normal movements. Took at week off from the gym after seriously messing my back up during my last session (Lesson Learned!)
Slowly getting back into it.
Injuries are always the worst. Although I’m not totally pain free.. I’m being super careful and hoping that getting things moving again will relieve the visual muscle spasms in my back.
Massage tomorrow will hopefully add to my recovery 🤞🏻

One of the worst things about getting into bodybuilding (and I know not just BB have it) is the body dysmorphia. Being apart of a sport that literally judges your body on the smallest details… it can be difficult. But it’s part of the sport, we know this going into it.
So when I post, saying I feel small, or fluffy, and others get upset because they find it offensive that someone “who isn’t overweight” is being so demeaning to themselves, know that it’s my own insecurities.
That the way I see my own body is by no stretch a reflection of the way I see others. We are our own worse critic, usually.
I will always struggle with body image, most people do. But my goal is to use it to constantly push and improve, with the hopes of one day being content with what I see in mirror, knowing it probably won’t happen.
I think most people can understand this struggle.
We each have our own journey.

I’m feeling super judged right now…
“Yea Bitch… eat your cake..”

As I get back into the routine, consistency, and discipline of lifting, I can help but feel a bit down.
Although I know it’s not true… I can’t help but point out all the flaws and see depreciation of muscle, despite only having a month off.
It’s the unfortunate plight of being, not only a gym rat, but also just a human being. Everyday feels like 3 steps forwards, a step back. But as long as I’m showing up, that’s all I can ask of my mind and body as I continue to fight different in the background.
