My birthday is in 7 hours.

Turning 35 doesn’t looking anything like I thought it would. Finding neutrality in times of uncertainty, and choosing gratitude in environments that try to disrupt me. The life I’m creating for myself is one that I am proud of, and I’m grateful for the kindness and support of all those who have prayed for, supported, and encouraged me. It’s been a tough year, but it has made me tougher.
Making this post so that when these legos all come together, it’s on record that I was grinding it out before the bandwagon showed up.

90% of the time when I tell someone I am a doula, they say:
“I’ve heard of that, they work with pregnant women right?”

A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to individuals going through life transitions, not just pregnancy or childbirth. They can assist with any major life event, such as personal growth, career changes, or family dynamics, by offering guidance, advocacy, and care. Doulas are important because they create a safe space for people to navigate challenges, helping them feel empowered, supported, and more prepared during times of change. The holistic approach fosters resilience and personal well-being.

It’s not just working “with”, or “on”- it’s supporting. Empowerment. Advocating. Sharing methods of self discipline, self regulation, and self love.

It’s a service everyone can benefit from that you would’ve gotten from your tribe if the environment was less McDonalds and more Mother Nature.
