A GUARDED HEART HAS WISDOM
Listen 👂 Guard your heart means:
👉 Having healthy boundaries
👉 Being careful about who you trust
👉 Refusing to participate in destructive relationships
👉 Learning from past experiences
👉 Being wise about what you allow into your mind and heart

It doesn't mean becoming cold.
Wisdom says, “I will be careful.”

PART 3 👉 “WHEN ESCAPE BECOMES A CYCLE”

🤗 The Heart of the Message is:

👉 Sometimes addiction doesn't begin because someone loves the thing they're doing.

Sometimes it begins because they are trying to escape something they don't know how to face.

🌱 Stress.
🌱 Loneliness.
🌱 Rejection.
🌱 Anger.
🌱 Failure.
🌱 Emotional pain.
🌱 A painful memory.
🌱 A feeling of emptiness.

So they find something that makes them 👉 forget even if only for a little while.

But temporary relief can become a repeated pattern.

You feel pain → you escape → you feel temporary relief → the effect wears off → the pain returns → you escape again.

And eventually, the escape becomes another prison.

🕊️ BUT HERE IS THE TRUTH

You cannot heal a wound by continually running away from it.

The thing you're using to numb the pain may eventually create more pain.

That's why God doesn't only want to change what you are doing.

He wants to reach what is hurting inside you.

👉 “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3

🍀 Healing may require prayer, honesty, accountability, wise boundaries, supportive people, and sometimes professional help.

There is no shame in asking for help.

🔥 THE DEEP QUESTION

What are you trying to escape every time you return to that habit?

Maybe the breakthrough begins when you stop asking only:

“How do I stop?”

…and begin asking:

“Lord, what needs to be healed in me?”

You are not your addiction.
You are not your worst decision.
You are not beyond God's reach.

The cycle can be broken.

Bring the hidden wound into God's light.
