FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

-Are you licensed and certified?
*I am a licensed and certified brow stylist, trained and certified in microblading and micro-shading, based in Atlanta, Georgia.

-How long does the procedure take?
*The procedure itself takes approximately one hour. However, on your first visit, please expect your appointment to last 1-2 hours, which is needed for your pre-drawing and care instructions.

-Does it hurt?
*Microblading/micro-shading is non-invasive, and therefore not as painful, as a traditional tattoo. You might feel some discomfort, but a topical numbing cream is applied to the brow area throughout the procedure to minimize discomfort.

-Is there any downtime?
*There is no downtime after the procedure. However, your brow area may feel tender and slightly swollen for a few days. You may resume exercise after 3 days.

-What is the healing process?
*Brows should be fully healed within 7-10 days, but a touch-up appointment is needed in 4-6 weeks after the first procedure to ensure the pigment has not faded and is perfectly shaped.

-What will my brows look like while they are healing?
*The brows will look up to 30% darker and larger during the first week, until it fully heals. During the healing process, the skin may form a light scab or crust. This is not very noticeable and can be concealed with brow gel or powder after 6 days until the scab fully comes off in 7-10 days. NO MAKEUP should be applied for 5-7 days due to the open cuts on your brows.

-What aftercare products should I use?
*Aquaphor is the only recommended product that should be used on your brows. Baby wipes or water wipes may also be used around the brow area for the 1st week.

-How long should I wait before my first touch-up appointment?
*The first touch-up should be scheduled 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure and is free of charge. This appointment is to perfect the shape and color of your brows and to darken any areas that may have healed too light.

-How often will I need touch-ups?
*After the initial touch-up, your brows will not fade completely for up to 2 years. I recommend scheduling touch-ups at least once a year to keep the color fresh. The cost for your touch-up will depend on how long you wait between appointments.

-What is the difference between a traditional tattoo and *microblading/micro-shading? Ink is “permanent” but “pigment” fades.
• Ink is deposited into the dermis which means there is a chance the ink will never leave the skin
• Extremely painful process
• High risk of creating scar tissue and scarring skin permanently
Microblading/Micro-shading:
• Natural color pigments create the appearance of fine hair strokes
• Color penetrates the epidermis (meaning color is not inserted deep into the skin unlike tattoos)
• Fades drastically and will leave the skin completely within 1-2 years
• Less painful
• Very low risk of scarring
