A few weeks ago I had the honor of doing hair and makeup for A Tale of Gothica, a unique film with an amazing cast and crew. Work has remained interesting, and occasionally challenging. I enjoy my job and my coworkers, though it does leave me with next to no time to play with makeup in my free time as I used to.

This is a goal I'm setting for myself, to play more, create things on my own, for myself and remember how much I loved it, and still do.

Until then, here are some fun, and unhinged images from what I do with most of my day. 🙃

A little peak into the finished product. The bodies come to me with all kids of flashing and cuts into it like the stomach here. My job is to clean all of that off and go in with silicone to blend out any seems and close up any holes or openings that shouldn’t be there. Then all bodies move on to paint from seeming (me) and to hair very last. The clients pick the skin tone, hair color/length/ texture, eye color, if they want the eyes open or closed and there are a ton more options for them. All toddlers and babies start out as male and if it’s a female as this one is we go in and sculpt genitalia as needed.

I know I haven’t posted in a while, but I started a new job 2 weeks ago and I’m excited to share what I’ll be doing! Here are a couple of photos of what I’ve been working on and as I continue working I’ll be able to share more of what we do.

I wrapped on my first set today. I want to thank the entire team and everyone involved for welcoming me in and allowing me to work on this project with them! It was such a blast and an amazing learning experience from start to finish. I look forward to hopefully working with them again in the future.

I did it! Today I graduated from masters program. I gained a full working knowledge of all kinds of makeup as well as prosthetic creation with the help of so many amazing teachers and my wonderful classmates. I can’t wait to see what we all do with our futures in makeup! 🖤
