As a native of Atlanta, Deedy Wales obtained her cosmetology license in 1985. By 1992, Deedy opened her own salon, Wales International, in Atlanta, GA. Her salon quickly became the hot spot for up and coming recording artist, actors and athletes in Atlanta. She gained widespread attention when she was hired to be the hairstylist for recording artist signed to Def Jam, Warner Bros, Universal, Colombia, Jive, Motown, Badboy and Sony Records. As the preferred stylist, Deedy toured with the late Whitney Houston, Jennifer Lopez and P-Diddy. Deedy has also enhanced the beauty of such stars as Taraji P. Henson, Jennifer Lopez, Tatyana Ali, Lauren London, Draya Michelle, Ashanti, Faith Evans, Keisha Cole, super models Selita Banks, Miranda Kerr, and many more. She went on to land television and film projects that included ATL, Belly, BET sitcoms and styling artist for the Grammy Awards. Deedy was hired as the lead stylist for music videos of artist ranging from Jay Z, Kanye West, Usher, TI, Ludacris, R-Kelly, Pharrell Williams, Jamie Foxx and Common. The transition into the Entertainment Industry helped Deedy develop a wide network of notable recording artist, actors and directors. As a result of Deedy's growing popularity, she began an agency to represent and cultivate some of the top hairstylist and make-up artist in the US. She mentored such stylist as Derek J of Fashion Queens, Merrell Hollis of the Wendy Williams Show and Shisha Beecham, makeup artist for Nia Long and Janelle Monet. Deedy has styled ad campaigns for Coca-Cola, Sprite, Ciroc and Budweiser. Her works have been featured in major publications such as Vogue, Essence, Ebony, Vibe and Sister to Sister magazine. Deedy quickly established her reputation in the industry as a trendsetter and style-maker with her knowledge and determination to provide top-notch service.
