What is Reiki... and

how is it used in the salon?

Hello beautiful, I hope you're having a fantastic week so far!

I'm often asked, "What is Reiki, and how is it used in your services?"
Reiki is known as an 'Energy Healing' technique that:
- inspires relaxation and rebalances our nervous system.
- reduces stress and anxiety through gentle or no touch.
- provides you with a moment of peace and stillness.
- helps to bring balance to your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual energy.

I've been trained and "attuned" to perform Reiki on others... So how exactly do I provide Reiki during our appointment?

I do Reiki post shampoo and pre conditioner, as you sit relaxing at the shampoo bowl. I guide you through 3 deep breaths, then I begin to meditate on my own inner light. I simply focus on sending loving energy to your 'crown chakra' (head / hair) as you simply relax... then I shift into giving a deep relaxing scalp massage!

Sound like a dream? ☁️

We're constantly moving from one task to the next throughout our days... including making it to our hair appointment! Reiki takes us out of 'fight or flight' and brings us into 'rest and digest' which inspires more pleasure within our bodies and experiences. 🌱

My goal is that you leave not only looking your best, but feeling your best...

✨ This is a consensual service that comes with every appointment for free! ✨
You also have an option to book a '30 minute Reiki + Deep Scalp Massage' by itself. This is super pleasant on the days that you're just looking to rest and feel cared for.

I took this picture a month ago on our normal bike ride enjoying the city. This is our every day route to and from each other’s homes. 💛
Seeing the protests continue day after day in the heart of our path is so empowering. I’m so grateful that this movement is spreading so radically.. and on social platforms so we can learn more and more. 🙏🏽 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I remember talking to my therapist when I was 18 about how shocked I was while learning about the racial indifference right outside my front door. Growing up in Forsyth County (one of the most historically racist counties) made me so naive for 18 years.
I moved to Atlanta and learned so much that it was overwhelming at times. Thankfully my new, beautifully diverse, friends were able to teach me when I was wrong.. and love me anyways. 💛
I went to poetry readings weekly where I intentionally listened, and learned, what it means to truly be a black person in America. These amazing artists, and speakers, had me shocked at my own ignorance at times.
But thank god for the uncomfortable moments, the awkward conversations, and the beautiful black community for teaching me how to love people the right way. ❤️🙌🏽🥺

I’m so proud of this day and age where so many people are able to learn, and truly change their point of views on this important struggle we’ve never known.

We all have different experiences, different lives.
Yet, at the same time we’re all connected.
We feel the same joy, and the same pain, as the next soul we pass.

We all long for the same things.
Validation and love from our tribe is everything.
We don’t know how to be alone.
Attaining love might look different for each of us, but i’m sure that it all feels the same.

To me - love is joy.
Where I find joy - I feel loved.
Find the joy. Choose the joy. All the time.
A life full of love.

This is an extremely old church in the outskirts of Barcelona... 🌞
We spent this day driving around century old vineyards in jeeps, eating all the tapas we could fit in our mouths, and stayed in awe of each new place and person that crossed our paths.. 🍷✨

Views from my bike today. ✨ Atlanta’s downtown area is a truly a gem.. it’s beautiful riding through these empty streets with the sun on my back. I like to appreciate seeing the vacant, run down buildings... they look very artistic to me. I try to picture what the area looked like back in the 90s, 70s, 30s...
Sometimes I even stop to read signs about the history’s architectural. Trying to connect, and appreciate the little things right in front of me.. 🌞✨ @ Downtown Atlanta

This pains me to say, but as expected, all businesses that aren’t mandatory will be shutting down for at least 2 weeks.

Big News!!!

🌿 Starting late April i’ll be taking some time off from work to travel.. ✈️💭 (who’s not surprised?)

In my opinion, pre-baby hair is just as important as pre-wedding hair🤰🏼🙌🏽 I’m surrounded my moms, and soon to be moms, all day long.. and it’s SO inspiring in the sense that women truly are fu***ng bad ass with what we can do with our bodies and minds.. 💪🏾💪🏼💪🏿💪🏻

Okay but this fall weather Atlanta’s been serving us makes me so in love with life...😍 Like come on.. this head of hair in 55 degree weather under some sunshine?!?! gimme gimme 🤤🤤🤤
