As a little girl in Philadelphia, Easter was my favorite holiday. Although I attended Catholic School, Easter was the one Sunday my entire family (and the whole neighborhood) went to church.

The Ritual was this: About a month before, we'd select the perfect Easter attire: dress, shoes, stockings/ruffled socks, purse and Sunday hat or hair accessories. 💅🏽

The day before, my mom would wash and press my hair, or braid it. Afterwards, we'd dye Easter eggs. 🪺

On Easter morning, I'd wake up to a new Easter basket filled with treats and sweets. Then, my mom would dress me in my Sunday finest. (Bragging rights went to the mom whose children were best dressed.) 😊

We'd make a day out of it. Church, then Easter eggs hunts, and in the 80's, you'd have a "kiddie disco", where the little kids would go dancing ;-) 💃🏾
