When life feels overwhelming, we must remain planted in God so the waves do not overtake us. Our souls should thirst for His presence, His truth and His peace.

We must also be careful whom we trust with our innermost thoughts and feelings. Loyalty is valuable, but it must always be accompanied by truth.

Give your painful memories to God.
Speak wisdom and encouragement into your own life.
Remain confident in God’s name, power and ability.

Clear a space and praise Him for what He has already done—and for what He is going to do. His help is available again and again. He will never leave nor forsake us.

Hello JoiB’yon Salon Family,

This week’s message was “Knee Power: Prayer Under Pressure.”

A bent knee represents surrender, humility and honor before God. When life brings us to our knees, we are not powerless—we are in the perfect position to pray.

Daniel’s faith was tested, but he continued kneeling before God three times a day. His relationship with God had developed the character and courage necessary to remain faithful under pressure.

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD.” — Psalm 121:1–2 KJV

Let’s be honest: sometimes we pray knowing we are guilty or have fallen short. There is no need to pretend—God already knows! Prayer is not a performance. It is where we confess, surrender, ask for forgiveness and receive the grace and strength to do better.

From our first childhood prayers to the prayers we pray during life’s hardest moments, prayer remains one of God’s greatest gifts. God neither slumbers nor sleeps. He is our keeper, protector and source of help.

This week’s scripture, Zephaniah 3:14–20, reminds us to rejoice with all our hearts because God is in our midst. He removes fear, restores what has been lost, gathers those who feel forgotten, and turns shame into praise.

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save… He will quiet you by His love.” — Zephaniah 3:17 ESV

What a beautiful reminder that even when life feels overwhelming, God is still present. His love can quiet our worries, renew our strength, and give us a reason to sing again. Walk into this week knowing that restoration is coming and you are never beyond God’s reach.

As I reflected on Sunday’s message, I could not help but think of each of you. We all experience seasons when life seems to weigh heavily upon us. Responsibilities increase, plans change, people come and go, and before long we find ourselves physically, emotionally, and even spiritually exhausted.

Yet the Word reminds us that we serve a God who never grows weary.

“He energizes those who get tired and gives fresh strength to those who have none.”

Perhaps this is your season of a new beginning—the start of a second wind.

Before God changes our circumstances, He often changes our thinking.

This week, I encourage you to remember:

• Revamp your way of thinking.
A renewed mind prepares you for renewed opportunities.

• God has never lost track of you.
There may have been moments when we lost sight of Him, but He has never lost sight of us. His love remains constant.

• God’s presence is constant.
When we understand who truly sustains us, we are no longer defined by the absence of others. Recognize the One who continually energizes your spirit.

• Prepare for fresh energy and new opportunities.
God is breathing fresh strength into new and promising undertakings. Position yourself to receive what He has already prepared.

Life has certainly been “life-ing” for all of us, and sometimes the demands of work, family, health, and everyday responsibilities cause us to lose touch.

Dearest Gentle Reader,

Lady JoiB’yonton has once again taken up her quill after a most inspiring Sabbath message, and she believes its wisdom extends well beyond the sanctuary—and even to the care of one’s crown.

Today’s scripture, Mark 5:25–34, reminds us that faith does not sit still. Faith moves. Faith presses. Faith maneuvers until it reaches the place where God has ordained blessings to be found.

How often do we become weary? We press through work, family obligations, unexpected trials, and the demands of daily life. Yet the lesson remains:

Do not stop. Keep pressing. Keep believing.

Just because you have exhausted human resources does not mean you have exhausted God’s resources.

You have to move.

Lord Samuel sees this truth reflected every day within the walls of JoiB’yon Salon. Many postpone caring for themselves because life becomes overwhelming. Hair appointments are delayed. Trims are forgotten. Moisture treatments are overlooked. Color fades. Healthy routines quietly disappear beneath the weight of life’s responsibilities.
