From inventors and educators to empire builders and global distributors, these pioneers shaped how we see ourselves and how the world sees us.
Some of these names you may know.
Some have gone unacknowledged for far too long.
And while we could never fit every pioneer into one post, this is our way of shining a light on those who laid the foundation.
Because Black hair history is Black history.
And the legacy continues.
