💛 Alex’s Health Update 💛

Thanks to your incredible generosity, Alex was able to travel to UCSF and finally receive a confirmed diagnosis. On July 28, she met with a UCSF specialist who enrolled her in a one-day trial, where she received a clear diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. While this is not the news we had hoped for, having clarity has allowed her to move forward with treatment.

Originally, a 7-hour Rituximab infusion was scheduled for August 29. However, thanks again to your support—and with her sensitivities in mind—Alex was able to opt out of Rituximab and qualify instead for at-home injections. 🙏✨

We continue to explore options that may help restore vision in her right eye, and your support makes this possible. Every prayer, share, and contribution goes directly toward her medical care, travel for treatment, and vision restoration research.

🚨 UPDATE: AUG 1, 2025 🚨�After months of delays, Alex finally got a doctor at Kaiser who listens—and she’s now been accepted into a UCSF clinical trial for early suspected MS beginning Aug 8. 💪✨
🔍 Current status:
Vision in right eye: 20/400 (legally blind)
Diagnosis: Still pending
Urgent goal: Prevent further vision loss and avoid risky treatment (Rituximab)
💉 Kaiser has postponed her first Rituximab infusion to Aug 29—giving her a chance to explore safer options through this UCSF trial, which covers testing like MRIs, blood work, and more.
This is a huge opportunity—but out-of-pocket costs remain (UCSF visit: $1,200, Rituximab: $700+ per infusion).

A beautiful, longtime esthetician, Marty Sullivan, is retiring, and her son Sean is holding a sale. I had the chance to stop by and chat with him about his mother—what an amazing woman she is. If you’re able, please stop by and take a look. It’s a wonderful opportunity to honor her legacy and find something special.

There have been many disappointments with Alex’s current healthcare provider. Alex’s DR was supposed to take Alex’s case to the board of DR. a month ago. Today is what we have been waiting for. Today she was going to talk with her neurologist about what the board had to say and do about no diagnosis and to help her make some decisions. To our grievous disappointment he canceled her appointment and has no further appointments. WHAT!
We have no choice now but to go outside of her current healthcare provider.

Your donations will help us go outside of Kaiser and private pay for alternate opinions from doctors that specialize in autoimmune diseases. Alex is hoping to avoid immune suppression therapy as the side effects are overwhelming and Alex’s insurance does not fully cover it.
