I’ve been so busy, I haven’t been posting. This was my 4th of July charcuterie board ❤️🤍💙

First of all, I’m blind ( like literally I only use one eye ) and did not realize how dusty my chandelier was 😳 so when I got on the ladder to declutter the decor on top of the front closet, the horror I saw that was my chandelier. Ever notice how you start one task only to realize you just discovered another? So I took it apart and cleaned it. Wow, so much more light shines through. Also cleaned the crown molding while I was up there. So one task turned into 3.

Yesterday I was able to put my table outside for free and someone hauled it off with the bench. I want a tiny little table nook in the corner if at all. I’m going to get a buffet under the window to hold my serving ware. As a family of 3 we sit up at the island, this table was only used for party food. The buffet will be useful as our house has limited storage space. No linen closet, no pantry, limited cabinet space due to the lack of pantry. My goal is a minimalist home. Simplicity, intentionality, and open space by keeping only items that serve a clear purpose. The table going is making a way for just that.

We had a really long dresser up against the wall full of all my craft stuff. I threw half of it away, ordered bins and put it in a closet with my party decor. Some of the black bins are my husbands stuff for his IT business ( so not organized ) so I still need to go through those and organize this closet a bit more. Including removing the stickers on the bins. The dresser is going to the Goodwill, I took apart our foosball table and we don’t drink so the kegerator from a party a few years back is going to the dump with that. Someone from our city group also took the water dispenser I put out…so this man cave has a lot more room now. I would LOVE to get rid of the tv above the fireplace but…men ya know!

I also asked myself why am I going to hang on to ANY Christmas decorations I don’t use anymore. Let someone else in joy them, they are cute. Just not my style anymore, posted these for free and they were gone fast!

This is the kind of stuff I do in my deep cleaning. I decide right in that moment something needs to go, I’m not gonna try to sell it, I don’t want to take a trip to goodwill, I was cleaning the garage and decided this needed to go. I posted this for FREE on my city FBook page, put it on the sidewalk and got rid of it after all the time I spent making it. Now instead of sitting in my garage, hopefully some little girl is playing with it!

I’m convinced the people who design appliances are NOT the cleaners of their household. Why do I have to unscrew things to properly clean them?

This summer has been devoted to getting things done around the house and maintenance. HVAC, new windows, front door, caulking, fixing so many things we paid “ professionals “ to do, only to find out it was done improperly 😫 clearing out and getting rid of anything and everything we do not use. No holding on to “ we might use it “ if it’s not been used, bye! So many goodwill trips, dump runs. I’ve gone through every item in my house and am currently on my second round in the garage. I have no problem getting rid of things, my husband on the other hand 🤔 so baby steps ( hence the second round ). During my process I’m organizing every single thing 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Today’s random unplanned project, I painted the credenza. I actually plan on getting rid of it and the tv, the placement of the windows in my living room don’t really allow for a tv that isn’t awkward. I actually want to pull my couch away from the wall and center them in the room. I can’t do that with the tv and credenza 😫 my desire is to have a fire place built in that corner. In the meantime, I painted that ugly black credenza. It actually really lightened up the room 👏🏻 if you know me, you know I love light! Still need to stain my new coffee table, but in true Whitney fashion…I see something, get an idea and have to do it right in that moment. Loves to add more to her plate 💁🏼‍♀️
