How to Process Eggshells for Your Garden:

Rinse eggshells and let them dry.
Crush into small pieces or powder.
Sprinkle around the base of your plants or mix into potting soil.
Why use eggshells?

Adds calcium for stronger plant growth
Helps deter slugs and snails
Improves soil drainage and aeration

🌿 Coming soon: herbs for bitter-making like:
American Ginseng, Gentian, and Andrographis!

DIY Herbal Bitters Recipe:

Ingredients:
1 tsp dried American Ginseng
1 tsp dried Gentian
1 tsp dried Andrographis
1 cup vodka or brandy

Instructions:
Combine the herbs and alcohol in a glass jar. Seal tightly.
Let it steep for 2-4 weeks, shaking daily.
Strain and store in a dropper bottle. Use 1-2 drops in sparkling water or cocktails for a digestive boost!

We had an absolute blast last week at the
Auburn Farmers Market during "Grow with Grandma!"

🌼 Here’s a quick recap:

Growing Marigolds, Zinnias, and Cucumbers: The kids learned how to plant and care for their new green friends. Remember, little ones, water your plants regularly, give them sunlight, and don’t forget to name them—plants love feeling special too! 🌱💛

Zinnias & Cucumbers: Growing Tips & Fun Facts

Zinnias:

Planting: Zinnias love full sun and well-drained soil. Space them about 6-12 inches apart.
Care: Water them at the base to avoid powdery mildew on their leaves. Deadhead flowers to encourage more blooms! 🌸
Fun Fact: Zinnias are butterfly magnets! Planting them in your garden helps support pollinators. 🦋

Cucumbers:

Planting: Cucumbers thrive in warm soil and need plenty of sunlight. Train their vines to climb a trellis for better airflow and easier harvesting.
Care: Keep the soil moist but not soggy, and consider mulching to retain water. Harvest cucumbers often to keep the plant producing! 🥒
Fun Fact: Cucumbers are 95% water, making them a hydrating snack for you and your garden friends. 💧

A Gardening Giggle for the Kids:
Why did the cucumber call the tomato?

Because it saw it blushing! 🍅😂
