As a third-generation family member of Augusta and having raised my children here I am rooted in this city. I have watched Augusta change over the past 10 years; change that has brought with it new challenges especially for our young. Our future is our city, and we must have leaders who are committed to having difficult conversations, pushing Augusta to grow and to be better than it ever has been. As a business owner I have always been committed to growth, to doing better than yesterday, to taking care of people. I am ready and willing to take on the needs of Augusta, while also prompting growth and enhancing the voices of those that live here.

If elected to the Augusta City Council seat, an area I would like to explore ways to assure that our local law enforcement police department is consistently fully staffed. On multiple occasions I have had to interact with local law enforcement over the years; each situation has been different ranging from simple things like building alarms, struggling neighbors, to more significant situation like car accidents, dangerous activity, and medically compromised individuals. Despite the difference in situations all these interactions with officers were consistent, kind, respectful, safe, and supportive.
The Augusta Police Department has consistently demonstrated their ability to be a calming and stabilizing entity when situations arise beyond treatment providers or citizens' abilities. The addition of the new police station is just a portion of what this city needed to show the professionalism of the Augusta police department. I think it is also vitally important that during a time when the city is looking at an increase in crime that we should also have an increase in well-trained peacekeepers in order to assure the safety of all citizens of Augusta Maine.

I have often thought that we do not pause long enough to really understand the impact that technology has on each generation. We live in a world with the ability to store our pictures in clouds, move our money through accounts, pay our bills online, and tap our phones on other devices. We find ourselves with choices of Samsung Wallet, Apple Pay, Venmo, Stripe, PayPal, or Bill Pay; it all depends on preference and generation.
Recently a local citizen reminded me that we may have left some citizens behind in our quest for ‘better, faster, improved.’ He reminded me of an entire generation that still uses cash, writes checks; an entire generation that does not utilize smart phones and clouds for photo albums.
How did he remind me of this you may wonder; he asked me one simple question… “How come the dump doesn’t take cash anymore?” It took me a minute to understand his concern; that paying for a simple city service has become more difficult for him with our move towards ‘progress.’ Upon further discussion with this gentleman, I also realized that being true to his generation he was not going to bring up a problem if he also didn’t have a solution; “Can’t they get a machine like they have at Walmart so I can just go to the dump?”
Here in the City of Augusta we are fortunate to have multi-generations residing in our community and I believe it is our responsibility to be sensitive to all citizens. I feel grateful for this citizen to remind me of this; I heard you, I understand you, and if elected to City Council I will work towards ensuring that consideration is paid to the voices of all generations.

Hair Tip: Switch To Silk
Switching to a silk pillowcase is probably one of the most underutilized and best hair tricks there is. Making this switch will not only give you the best hair ever, but it is also better for your skin!
Cotton pillowcases absorb moisture, not only from your skin, but also your hair. This can cause bed hair, split ends, and breakage. Also, a bonus is that silk pillowcases have been proven to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. Silk pillowcases are more expensive, but the extra cost is definitely worth it for all of the benefits.

Darker hair can have some fun with this ombre color and layered cut. Ombre starts with dark hair color at the roots and transitions to a lighter color near the ends for a stunning result.
