TL,DR: Jennifer is a compassionate, trauma-informed therapist and instructor dedicated to helping clients feel their best long after the session is completed. She’s a certified DeepFeet Bar Therapist, a SARGA practitioner in training, an expert in Neural Reset Therapy, combining it with a range of powerful modalities—including Quantum Alignment Technique, RAPID Neurofascial Reset, and Somatic Touch—to create a deeply restorative experience for her clients. Certified in Burn and Scar Tissue Mobilization, Sports Relief Techniques, and Cupping Therapy, Jennifer tailors each session to meet her clients’ unique needs. As Captain of the Massage Team for the Augusta IronMan since 2022, she brings high-level expertise and a commitment to excellence

The long version -

I probably should have done this first, but there’s no time like the present. You’ll have to forgive me - I can’t stand social media, but it is now a necessary evil. Above you’ll find a bio that you’ll find on a typical spa website. But I thought I’d go over some FAQs that I’ve gotten over the years. This job is incredibly personal and built on trust. And most people want a little background on the person they’re booking with. So - from the highly guarded, eldest daughter who struggles with vulnerability and visibility, and who is reteaching herself to take up space; with no help from AI - whether you call it “testimony” or “the lore drop,” here’s my story. Because in an overly fake world, authenticity is what we need.

My journey to Massage Therapy has pretty much spanned my entire life. From walking on my grandfather’s back as a child, to “massage circles” in flag corps/band (where everyone would fight to sit next to me), to my senior project in high school.

In early 2004, I was involved with Augusta School of Massage for that senior project. On the way home from the school, I was rear ended by an 18 wheeler. I had to pivot while recovering and learned the benefits of massage from a clients’ stand point as far as recovery.

After high school I briefly attempted the “family business” - aka - Emergency Services. I dispatched for a little over a year, when I realized it was NOT for me. [MAD respect for the ones that can, cause it’s almost 20 years later and some of those calls are STILL with me]

I worked in restaurants for about a decade. As a mostly introverted individual in a highly extroverted job, that led to substance abuse to try and maintain. [Benzos were my jam. Ya girl was messy. Barbiturates for migraine didn’t help. Especially when it can put you in perpetual rebound headache]

In 2017, the universe decided it was fed up with my nonsense, and not being aligned with my purpose, so it gave me 3 injuries over a year and a half. I fell in a kitchen and had to have surgery to stabilize my knee [I have a cadaver tendon. His name is Oscar - cause my knee is trash and sometimes he makes me grouchy]. The told me I’d be lucky to get 70% mobility back. I did my own version of PT and got myself back to 100%. I was released from worker’s comp and back less than a month when I had what I’m told was a seizure [don’t stop taking Topamax cold turkey] - I remember cashing out a table and then waking up to paramedics. I had to get 10 stitches in my head, cracked my tail bone, and the knee cap they had just stabilized. [Basically, I put that GM through -SO- much stress, I’m surprised he still talks to me. {my bad, dude. 🥴🤣}] I decided that particular restaurant was trying to kill me, and went back to one I had previously worked. After a shift, I was grocery shopping, after a shift and the frozen food section was leaking…you probably see where this is going. I slipped, fell, and cracked my ankle. They didn’t find it right away. I was still serving tables while being told “it’s just sprained, you’re fine” even though I was insisting it didn’t feel like a normal sprain. They finally caught it in an MRI two months later. While trying to figure all of that out, we were following up on my head injury. They determined I had hit hard enough to cause brain deficits (damage), that I’d still be able to do anything, it just might take me a little longer. I started to notice it playing video games. My hand eye coordination was off. With the settlement from the grocery store, and at the advice of a *very* good friend of mine, I decided to finally go back to massage school. Just to prove to myself that I could.

Since graduating from Augusta School of Massage in November 2019, I’ve taken some of the “hardest” continuing education classes available. Whether academically hard, or things I’ve done to face childhood fears/traumas. I’ve been practicing for almost 7 years. We’re required to do 24 hours of continuing education every 2 years. In 7 years, I’m sitting at 250[ish] hours. Different bodies need different things. And I love what I do. I’ve been the captain of the Massage Team for the Augusta IronMan since 2022 and an instructor at the Augusta School of Massage since February 2025.

I’m a huge nerd. Massage and the human body is my hyper focus, but also - yes, that IS an Elvish tattoo on my forearm - it says “we’re all stories in the end, just make it a good one, eh?” [The Eleventh Doctor]. Yes, I do have the Harry Potter tattoos [I’m a Gryffindor]. I love all things Alice in Wonderland. My cat is named Gizmo. She is equally adorable Mogwai and insane, chaotic, destructive gremlin. I have chronic resting Bitch face - I genuinely have no knowledge of what my face is doing 75% of the time. I run on caffeine, rage, and whimsy. But it works. You never know what color my hair is going to be. You’re not gonna weird me out, you will more than likely weird me in. [If I make jokes about grippy sock vacations, don’t mind me! Live, laugh, lobotomy!] Gonzo is my favorite muppet. Pepe is a close second.

I’ve struggled with body dysmorphia and disordered eating since middle school. I still remember the comment that started it and have dealt with similar ones as recently as this year.

All this to say -

* I understand PTSD, depression, and anxiety because I have it.
* I understand medical dismissal because I’ve experienced it
* I understand addiction, because I’ve been there.
* I understand grief because I’ve lived it up close and personal multiple times.
* I understand complex injuries because I’ve lived them.
* I know what it’s like to be completely in your head and not in your body.
* I’ve had migraines since I was 9 and understand it affects your ENTIRE nervous system.
* I understand SA survivors, because…same. (And we don’t say “victim” here)
* I’ve started over so many times, that I’ve lost count.

…and I wouldn’t trade a single second, because it made me who I am today.

You’re not crazy. No one experiences living in your body, except for you. You know it best. Your concerns matter. We’re all having a complex human experience, and each of us experiences it differently. You’re not alone. Touch matters. And I hold no judgements (unless you act creepy). I’m not the massage therapist for everyone, and that’s ok. But there’s a space for you on my table.

I’m just a spooky, weird girl in an “obsessed with summer” world who is tired of doing it everyone else’s way. Be patient with me. I’m from the 1900s.
