And I pray for protection over the hearts and minds of all the children. Because childhood is what sets the foundation for the rest of their lives. ❤️

Just returned from THE most wonderful, amazing, perfect vacation I've ever had! We went on a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas on Carnival Glory, our first ever cruise!
Im now ruined on any other kind of vacation. Cruises are the only kind I ever want to go on again!
The best part was just having one-on-one, worry free time living it up with my built in bestie. We danced, we ate, we sang, we swam in the Carribean sea, we dove with the fishies, we made new friends, we stayed up late, we lived it all to the fullest! It was everything I'd hoped it would be, and exactly what I needed. So thankful 🙏

It commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, specifically marking the day in 1865 when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation and free the last enslaved people in the United States.

The origins of Juneteenth date back to the final days of the Civil War. Although President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, it could not be immediately enforced in Confederate-controlled areas like Texas.It wasn't until June 19, 1865—more than two years later—that Union Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and read General Orders No. 3, which announced: "The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free." This pivotal moment signaled freedom for more than 250,000 enslaved people in the state.
