Since 2020 he has been quietly building a banking empire, starting with a board seat at his hometown First National Bank in Ames, Iowa, and growing into a two million dollar stake in Triumph Financial.

He even enrolled in a two year banking program at Iowa to earn the credentials for his boldest move yet, a twenty five million dollar bid to fully own Community State Bank in Paton, Iowa.

The deal now hinges on Federal Reserve approval, and if it goes through it would make him the first NBA player to own a bank outright.

This is not just a smart investment, it is a mission to keep small business lending alive in the community that raised him.
