My grandpa, who was always very kind and patient, fished with me and cooked with me. Unfortunately, we have not had him with us for some time now. He has a special saying that resonates more with me every day: If you have enough true friends, you can fit them on one hand, you are a very lucky person. I agree! True friends are hard to come by, so when they stick around, hold them close. The same goes for family - they are not all invested in seeing you succeed, be happy, or be successful. It’s a life lesson. However, if you continue to fill your own cup and fill your days with love, happiness, and beauty, you will find peace. The right people will call and reach out to check on you and your family despite what they have going on and they ask the questions and listen That’s kind of the true meaning of family. “Family first” is another saying that resonates, but it has to fit within your boundaries and be gentle, kind, and loving. Find your people and surround yourself with those who clap for you when you’re not in the room, who truly know you for your genuine, pure and honest heart. Fill your days with finding gratitude and glimmers. They will always lead you to the strength you need to get through the day.
