🎉 I did a thing yesterday—I graduated! 🎓 I’m beyond excited to be part of a groundbreaking program designed to elevate the impact that shop operators have on their clients’ mental well-being. This initiative is especially important as we recognize the increased mental health challenges faced by Black men and women in the U.S., exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many individuals encounter barriers to accessing the mental health services they need, including stigma, distrust of the healthcare system, and a lack of providers who reflect their own experiences. Yet, our barbers and stylists stand as trusted pillars within the Black community, providing a sacred space where clients can openly discuss issues like depression, anxiety, and family stress.

Through Project HairCare, I’m excited to learn vital skills and gain tools that will empower me to help clients achieve mental wellness and improve their overall health. Together, we can break down barriers and foster a supportive environment for mental well-being! 💪🏾✨
