There’s a lot more nuance to injectables than simply deciding where to put filler. Sometimes the best treatment is adding a little. Sometimes it’s correcting what’s already there. And sometimes it’s leaving your face completely alone.

Have you ever wondered why I sometimes use this long, flexible tool during filler treatments?

It is called a microcannula. Unlike a traditional needle, it has a rounded tip with a tiny opening near the side. Once a small entry point is created, the cannula can reach a broader area with fewer punctures and may result in less bruising in certain treatments.

That does not mean a cannula is always the better choice or completely free of risk. Needles provide precision, while cannulas allow broader placement. I choose between them based on the anatomy, treatment area, product, and result I am trying to create.
