Seats were disappearing in front of my eyes, but I finally got two good tickets at a cost of almost £600," she writes.

"The whole experience got me thinking about the nail and beauty industry, and the difference between cost and value. Yes, the tickets cost me £600, but their value is far greater than £600.

"You must create a unique environment and build a relationship with each client that is of great value to them. I could throw a tennis ball in any direction from my salon and I would hit another person offering the same as me at a lesser price. My clients walk past them to get to me. To them, I am worth the cost because of my value."
