Tomorrow, we will be closing at 1 PM to honor Odin Hensley and to stand beside his amazing mother, Christina, and their family during this incredibly difficult time.

It’s been absolutely amazing seeing all of the outpouring of love, prayers, and support this community has shown throughout this devastating loss.

As a reminder, we also have a prayer box at both of our locations. All are welcomed to stop by and leave a note, prayer, or simply some love and support for Christina and her family. ❤️

Dear Betty Lash community,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the heartbreaking loss of Odin Hensley, the beloved son of our own Christina, who has been a cherished member of the Our Betty Lash family for the past five years as an esthetician.

On Monday, August 10th, Odin, a senior and member of the Lake Travis Varsity Football team, experienced a sudden medical emergency during football practice. He suffered cardiac arrest and was transported to Dell Children’s, where he fought incredibly hard surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Tragically, Odin passed away.

There are no words that can adequately express the heartbreak Christina and her family are experiencing right now. Odin was a son, teammate, friend, and loved one who meant so much to so many. His loss has left an unimaginable hole in the hearts of his family, friends, teammates, coaches, and entire community.

A GoFundMe has been established to help the family with medical expenses, funeral and memorial costs, and the many unexpected financial burdens that come with such an unimaginable loss. If you are able, we invite you to donate in Odin’s memory and help lighten even a small part of the burden Christina and her family are carrying. If you’re unable to donate, sharing the fundraiser is also an incredibly meaningful way to help!

We have also placed a prayer basket at the front desk of each of our Betty Lash locations, where anyone who would like to can leave a note, prayer, or special message for Christina and her family. We hope these small reminders of love and support will help Christina feel just how deeply she is cared for by the community.

At this time, Odin’s parents have declined support through a meal train and have asked that their privacy be respected. We kindly ask everyone to honor that request while continuing to hold them close in your thoughts and prayers.

As a team, we want to surround Christina and her family with as much love and support as possible during this devastating time. We also kindly ask that you extend a little extra grace, patience, and support to our Betty Lash staff as we navigate this heartbreaking loss together. Christina is deeply loved by our team, and we are all processing the emotions and grief that come with losing someone so special. Your understanding and compassion mean more to us than we can express.

On Monday, August 10th, Odin Hensley, a senior on the Lake Travis Varsity Football team, experienced a serious medical emergency during football practice. Odin suffered cardiac arrest at practice and was taken by Travis County STAR Flight. He is currently in the intensive care unit of Dell Childrens receiving care, and his family is facing an incredibly scary and uncertain time.

Right now, Odin’s parents are by his side at the hospital, focused completely on him and hoping and praying for his recovery. Doctors are worried about his brain and organs, and the family does not yet know what the outcome will be. On top of this fear and uncertainty, his parents are also missing work so they can stay with their son through every moment of this crisis.

This fundraiser is being organized to help take some of that financial stress off their shoulders. The money raised will go toward hospital bills, rehabilitation, and helping cover lost income while Odin’s parents take the time they need to be with him. The last thing this family should have to worry about right now is how they are going to manage financially when all of their energy needs to be on Odin and his healing.

Odin’s family needs the support of the community right now. If you can donate, no amount is too small, and it will mean so much. If you are not able to donate, sharing this fundraiser would also make a real difference. We are also asking for prayers for his heart, his brain, and other organs to make a full recovery.
