I started researching organic products when I opened my first salon in Westlake, Texas. I was getting insurance estimates for my stylist when I found out hairdressers where the 2nd to insure, Chemist being the highest to insure. That's when I started to research they why's. My research found many reasons, thus my decision to go Organic WAY before people were aware of the dangers of the products they were using on their hair and skin. The only product available at that time was this line by PHYTO.

Greek: Phyto = plants, thera = care, thrie = hair

Creator and Founder: Patrick Ales. As he was steadily building his reputation through his haircuts
and later his “brushing” hair style
(French word for blow-dry)
which he created in 1966, Patrick Alès was already thinking about avoiding the damage
that chemicals used in professional products were causing
to the hair and the hands of the hairdressers.

With a motto that he will always keep:
“Primum, Non Nocere”
(first, do no harm), and a conviction that if plants have cosmetics virtues
for the skin, they must also have some for the hair – Patrick Alès
began to study plants with the most beneficial properties for the hair and scalp.

HAIR TIP OF THE WEEK!

A trend in hair care that you might have noticed is the use of brushes with a natural bristles. The use of this kind of brush helps to distribute the natural oils in your hair. With this kind of brush you effectively can move the natural oil from the scalp down through to the ends of the hair. This is a natural way to nourish your hair. When you brush your scalp, you stimulate the sebum glands and produce more sebum, naturally. BOAR brushes, I recommend.
