After a 2 year break from the industry to recover from many surgeries I am back in the industry I have loved my entire life. I am ready to get back to work. I love doing hair! I wanted to be a hairstylist at the early age of 4. I was lucky enough to go to cosmetology school in high school and graduated at 17 with a high school diploma and a cosmetology license. I continued my education - in Dallas, Texas - and received an Instructors license and taught cosmetology school for 3 years. I attended a masters hair color class for Miss Clariol back in 1988. Competed in a few competitions and won 1st place in Braids, Mens cuts and for hair color. 30 years later I still believe in education. No matter what industry you work in, there will always be a need to improve. There is not much in the beauty industry that I don't enjoy. I love long thick, hair. Straight or very curly, Thin hair or thick. Having thick, long and curly hair myself, I have no fear of working with those fortunate enough to be blessed lots of hair. I am not intimitated by what can overwhelm many hairstylists. I believe in educating clients about their hair. I want to make sure each person understands their hair and how to make it work best for them. I don't make up lame answers to questions people have about their hair. I don't believe in most of the "old wives tales" so I search for logical answers. If I dont know I say "I don't know". I might even look for an answer! I call it like I see it. Upfront, upclose and personal. If I don't believe we can achieve the results you hope for, I will explain why not. It has been said of me that I can be a little to honest. Well, I may be a "little to honest" for some, but at least I don't believe in camoflauging the true (...lying). I would love the opportunity to talk with new people and discuss their hair needs.
