Happy 2024!!! .by.mikayla and I worked our butts off during the holiday season and then celebrated with a big fat Christmas break.

I've also been taking time away from social media to rest and recharge. Trying to be creative and witty and interesting on the internet is exhausting when you also have a full-time job running a business and taking clients. It's hard to muster the energy sometimes, but here we are!

TELANGIECTASIA!
Ever notice tiny capillaries like these on your face? The medical term for them is Telangiectases.
Telangiectasia (tell•ann•jek•tay•zhuh)is a condition in which widened venules (tiny blood vessels) cause threadlike red lines on the skin. These patterns, or telangiectases, form gradually over time and are usually found in clusters. Telangiectases are common in areas that are easily seen (such as the lips,eyes, fingers,cheeks and nose as seen above). They can have a number of causes, from physical trauma, UV damage, rosacea, or just typical aging. Some people find them unsightly but they're usually benign and do not require treatment of any kind unless you want to remove them for cosmetic purposes.
Removal methods will vary from place to place. Here at SBK, we've seen great success in treating Telangiectasia with IPL (photofacials) a on our YAG laser , but electrodessication and sclerotherapy are other popular removal methods. To each their own!
