We’ve been coming back to Whitefish for years — my boyfriends family is local (and he also use to live there) , and travel shenanigans happens to be my day job — so this is the stuff we actually do, not what’s already been posted a thousand times.

Questions to ask your parents while you still can — and I mean the ones that actually start a real conversation.
My mom brought a list to my dad’s 70th birthday dinner in Santa Fe. We went around the table - my brothers and I and our partners. Some questions were for him directly. Some were for us, about him.
Bonus one that stopped me: my brother was asked if there’s a version of our dad he wishes he knew.
I’m still thinking about that answer.
