In my Instagram, I often touch on technique, share personal life hacks, and discuss common mistakes. However, there are mistakes that only artists notice (but remain unnoticed by clients), and there are those mistakes that make clients stop coming to the artist. In this post, I want to highlight these specific mistakes.

Sticking Lashes Together: This mistake is generally quite standard, but often artists miss these stickies, thinking the client won’t notice. You are right; in most cases, the client won’t see it. However, stickies cause significant discomfort, which can drive the client away.

Insufficient Amount of Glue: How much glue you use on a lash can’t be checked by your client, but it greatly affects the durability. If the lashes start to fall off, the client is unlikely to return.

Lack of Knowledge of Eye Anatomy and Shape: The client themselves can hardly advise on what length and curl to apply where. However, if the shape and scheme are chosen incorrectly, the client’s face can look older, sad, or tired. If the client doesn’t like how their face looks after the procedure, they definitely won’t return to you.

All these mistakes can be easily corrected by improving both theoretical and practical knowledge. If you are a lash artist and have trouble retaining clients, the first thing you should work on is your technique.

This is a question that my clients frequently ask, and I’ve decided to address it in this post.

There are times when our eyelashes lack the desired brightness, and we wish to give them a little touch-up. While it is possible to do so, it is important to follow the following recommendations:

1. Avoid using waterproof mascara. Instead, opt for a thermal mascara that can be easily washed off with warm water. This type of mascara is ideal for maintaining the integrity of your lashes.
2. When removing mascara, use only micellar water. Avoid using oil-based or creamy makeup removers, as they can dissolve the glue used for lash extensions.
3. To remove makeup, apply the cleanser on a cotton pad and gently press it against your lashes for 30-40 seconds. This allows the mascara to dissolve before you wipe your eyes. Avoid rubbing vigorously, as this can damage and tangle your lashes.

Lastly, keep in mind that any additional manipulation or product application on your lashes will inevitably reduce their overall lifespan.
