You’re not alone. Late summer and early autumn seem to be the season of hair rebellion for many of us!

Here's what's up: Your hair has a natural cycle, including a 'break' phase known as telogen, during which our hair tends to fall out/shed more easily.

During summer, our hair acts like a sun hat to protect our scalps from UV rays. As the days get shorter and sunnier days become fewer and farther between, we start to shed the hair we needed for scalp protection in the summer. Hence - crazy shedding this time of year!

So rest assured if you feel like half your hair is collecting at the shower drain every time you wash. More shedding this time of year is completely normal! But as always, consult with your doctor if you feel your hair shedding isn’t normal to you.
