Ten years ago today, we lost my sister, and not a day goes by that I don’t miss her.

She packed more love, laughter, adventure, and life into 36 years than most people do in a lifetime. She loved deeply, cared endlessly, and gave so much of herself to everyone around her — family, friends, and even complete strangers. That was just who she was.

She had the kind of laugh and sense of humor that could light up a room, and an energy that made everyone want to be around her. She was outgoing, fun, compassionate, and unforgettable. The world felt warmer with her in it.

There’s a space in my heart that will always belong to her. I still catch myself wishing I could call her, hear her laugh, or tell her about life’s little moments. Grief changes over the years, but love doesn’t.

I hope she knew how deeply she was loved and how much of her still lives on through the people lucky enough to have known her.

My dear sweet sister, Kristie, how I miss you so! I cannot believe it has been 9 years since you left this world. It feels like my world came crashing down just yesterday. There isn’t a day, let alone an hour, that goes by where I’m not thinking about you. I feel surrounded by your love and strength every day, but what I would give to be able to pick up the phone and hear your silly songs, your road rage, the stories of your travels and adventures, I’d take a lecture from you, too....anything to hear your voice and to have you in this life with me, with all of us. You were truly beyond one of a kind and not only am I blessed to have had you as a sister, but also as a best friend, a role model, a bossy boots, and someone that has taught me so much about love, courage, loyalty, strength, fearlessness, and you still continue to teach me even more with all of the lasting memories I hold so dear and the “what would Kristie do”! I know you are the BIGGEST reason I have all that I do in my life today. Thank you for watching over me. Your selflessness continues to exist in my life. I love you so much my forever angel. Cheers to a beautiful life lived😘
