A little heat, the right technique, and a whole lot of experience. ✂️
Thermal styling is one of those services where the details matter. The hair needs to be properly prepared, the heat needs to be controlled, and the finish should look smooth without leaving the hair feeling overworked.
I love creating styles that are polished, manageable, and still look good after you leave the salon.
And yes, I believe you can have beautiful hair without spending your entire day in the chair. Efficient does not mean rushed.
Nearly 40 years behind the chair has taught me how to work with the hair, not against it.
If your hair is ready for a fresh, polished look, let’s get you together. 💎

It’s not always about making the tiniest, tightest braids possible.
It’s about YOUR hair.
Your hair’s condition.
Your density.
Your edges.
Your scalp.
And most importantly, what your hair can actually tolerate.
A good foundation isn’t about how tight you can braid it. It’s about creating a foundation that will support the style without compromising the hair underneath it.
One thing I love about my crochets and weaves is that you will probably NEVER see me creating the exact same base twice. 😂
I was going through some of my old photos and realized just how many different foundations I’ve created over the years. And honestly… some of them had me thinking, “Girl, where are you going with this?” 😂
The truth is, I don’t always know exactly what the finished style is going to look like when I start.
I look at your hair, your density, your condition, the style you want, how you want it to lay, and how you need to be able to wear it. Then I freestyle the foundation from there.
That’s the artistic part of my brain. 🎨✂️
To me, there really isn’t a “mess up.” There’s just “okay…let me figure this out.” 😂
And if I don’t like what I’ve created?
I’m taking it right back out and doing it again until I LOVE it. Period. 😂
Every head doesn’t need the same foundation.
Every style doesn’t need the same technique.
And every stylist doesn’t approach extensions the same way.
This is why I love what I do. 🤎
🍂 CROCHET SEASON HAS ENTERED THE CHAT! 😂
And trust me… I have enough crochet work in my camera roll to keep y’all busy for a WHILE! 😮💨🔥
Different textures.
Different lengths.
Different looks.
Different ways to protect your hair while still looking like YOU. ✨
One thing about me—I’ve been doing hair long enough to know there’s more than one way to get the look you want. I’m just choosing to put my crochet work in the spotlight this fall. 👏🏾
So if you start seeing crochet after crochet after crochet on my page…
Mind your business. 😂😂
It’s crochet season!
🍂🤎 Let’s get you into a fall protective style.
A few people has been asking me about crochets. Not only have I’ve been doing crochets forever, but I believe I was doing this natural look before the human hair crochets even came out. I think at this stage in my career of being practically everything there is to do lol….
💛 A Little Heart-to-Heart About Confirmations
I want to talk about something that has been becoming increasingly frustrating for me — appointment confirmations.
When you book an appointment with me, that time is being set aside specifically for you. I don’t overbook my schedule, stack clients on top of each other, or try to squeeze as many people into a day as possible just to make more money.
I’ve done that before. Been there, done that. And I made a decision that I don’t want to work that way anymore.
I want my days to flow smoothly. I want to give every client my undivided attention. I don’t want you sitting in the salon all day, and I don’t want to overwhelm myself trying to keep up with an unrealistic schedule.
So when an appointment is booked, that time belongs to you.
Here’s where the confirmation issue becomes a problem for me.
There have been several occasions where an appointment remains in a pending status because the system cannot process the client’s deposit. When I attempt to confirm the appointment, the card on file is declined.
The appointment doesn’t automatically cancel. It simply sits there, continuing to take up a spot on my book.
And then, when the appointment time comes, I sometimes hear that the appointment wasn’t confirmed or that the client didn’t know they had an appointment.
I understand that things happen. But please understand my side, too. PocketSuite sends appointment reminders, and you are able to cancel or reschedule your appointment yourself.
And here’s the part I really want everyone to know:
Canceling your appointment in a timely manner is 100% FREE.
Rescheduling your appointment is 100% FREE.
You don’t have to call me.
You don’t have to message me.
You don’t have to explain yourself.
If something comes up, simply go into your appointment and cancel or reschedule. It really is that simple.
What isn’t simple is holding a spot on my calendar, not showing up, and leaving me with a block of time that I could have offered to someone else.
I genuinely love my clients, and I work very hard to give you the experience and attention you deserve. All I ask in return is that you please respect my time and my books the same way I respect yours. ❤️
If you know you can’t make your appointment, please cancel or reschedule.
No hard feelings. No explanation necessary. Just communication through the system and consideration for the next person who may be waiting for that appointment. 💕
Sometimes, the best thing you can do for your silk press is leave it alone. ✂️
One thing I see often is clients adding foam, setting lotion, or other wet products to their hair every night because they feel like they need to keep “feeding” it.
I understand the thought, but once your hair has been professionally shampooed, conditioned, blow-dried, and flat ironed, adding moisture back into it can work against the style you just paid for.
Natural hair is designed to respond to moisture. That’s why those wet products can encourage your hair to revert back to its natural texture.
And about the oil…
Your scalp naturally produces oil. You don’t need to keep adding more every night to keep your hair healthy. If your hair needs a little extra shine, a lightweight shine spray may be a better choice than layering on heavy oil.
The secret to making your silk press last is not always adding more. Sometimes it’s knowing when to stop.
✔️ Wrap your hair properly at night.
✔️ Sleep in a silk or satin scarf.
✔️ Avoid unnecessary foams, setting lotions, and wet products.
✔️ Use a light shine spray if needed.
✔️ Keep your maintenance appointments so your hair can be properly cleansed and cared for.
Your hair does not need a nightly product routine just because you’re trying to preserve your style.
Pixie and silk press girls, what’s one product you used to think you needed every night? 👀
