Whitney's Hair Salon is a family friendly hair salon with a lot of history! In 1966, Bill opened Whitney's Barber Shop at 701 High Street.
In 1952, Bill and Mildred Whitney moved from Paola to Baldwin City and purchased the Eighth Street
Barber Shop. Martha (Whitney) Wright, cosmetologist, joined Bill in 1979 and together they created a barber and beauty shop and called it Whitney's Creative Hair Designs. In 1991, Martha purchased the shop from Bill. The Wright family legacy continues as Emily Wright, daughter-in-law of Martha, purchased the shop in January 2013. The Whitney/Wright legacy is still in place with the new name of Whitney's Hair Salon. The Whitney and Wright families want to thank Baldwin City for over 60 years of loyalty. We invite you to come by and see our newly remodeled facility and explore the additional services that are now offered to our customers.

💈✂️ 🎉 60 years ago today, Bill Whitney opened up Whitney’s Barbershop at 701 High St.
In 1979, Martha (Whitney) Wright joined her dad in the shop and they together created Whitney’s Barber and Beauty Shop.
In 1991, Martha took over the ownership and renamed it Whitney’s Creative Hair Design.
In 2013, Martha’s daughter-in-law, Emily Wright, bought the shop from Martha.
To carry on the history and family name, Emily renamed the shop, Whitney’s Hair Salon.
A huge thank you to all of our loyal customers who have kept us going all these years!

We celebrated our salon girls Christmas last night! Each year we choose a fun activity to do together. This year we went to Improv Comedy Club. So much fun and SO many laughs! 😂😅 We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
