Just had Maycee’s 1 week follow up.
She is doing great! Perfect amount of weight being put down. Incision looks good. Another week and that should be healed. Still has a 6-8 week fully healed recovery period and another 5ish weeks of No stairs, jumping running etc.
No daycare until 3-4 months out.
Thank you for all your flexibility and understanding ❤️ Both babies will grace your presence for the next couple weeks 💜🧡

Maycee update-
Surgery went well yesterday. She came home and was very whiny and confused. She is in pain. Our hearts are in pain. She is expected to do very well but the next few days will be fun.. 🤪 She is non weight bearing or little weight bearing and restricted activity to basically none.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Please keep them coming!!! 🙏🏼
She will be coming in the office with me once I’m back on Tuesday. I’m sorry in advance for any crying both from me and her ❤️
Thank you for your patience and understanding

Glute tension and back pain are very often connected—sometimes the glutes are the cause, and other times they’re compensating for something else.
Here’s how it typically breaks down:
🔗 Why your glutes and back are linked
Your glutes (especially the glute max and glute med) play a huge role in stabilizing your pelvis and supporting your lower back. When they’re tight, weak, or not activating properly, your lower back tends to pick up the slack.
⚠️ Common causes of glute tension + back pain
* Sitting a lot → glutes become tight and “shut off” (sometimes called “dead butt syndrome”)
* Weak glutes → lower back overcompensates
* Overuse → from workouts, lifting, or even walking patterns
* Poor posture → anterior pelvic tilt or swayback
* Tight hips/hip flexors → pulls everything out of balance
* Trigger points → knots in the glutes referring pain into the low back or even down the leg
🧠 What it can feel like
* Achy or tight lower back
* Deep soreness in the glutes
* Pain when standing up, walking, or after sitting
* Sometimes radiating discomfort (can mimic sciatica)
