After a harrowing several weeks monitoring/managing/battling escalating health issues for my son, it became clear that I needed to step away from work to focus fully on him. My usual childcare was going away on a trip the last two weeks of June anyway, and I’d planned to line up alternatives so I could still work, but I changed my mind as things progressed, and just took two full weeks to be full time mom.

I’m so glad I did.

Big tests, figuring out meds, new side effects, and other tweaks to our routine have left my little boy needing his mama, and it was a precious thing to be there for him.

I would not have been able to afford this time off without SO MANY people generously buying tickets in the raffle I did a few weeks ago. I was overwhelmed with the support and involvement people put into that, and it allowed me to take time off, still pay my bills, buy meds & more natural remedies, and a few special treats for my brave boy.

On top of that I have received endless kind messages, we have FELT how many many prayers people have said for us, and someone even made us dinner! It’s been overwhelming to feel so loved and supported through this weird time.

I’ll confess that I’ve been very disassociated, overwhelmed, and burnt out through most of this month, so if I didn’t enthusiastically and adequately thank you, I’m sorry. THANK YOU. For any and all ways you’ve loved us this month.

Tomorrow I’m back to work and looking forward to seeing you all.
