Let’s talk hair extensions and if they’re right for you! The most common questions I get are-
1) what’s the investment?
2) Are they damaging?
3) What’s the maintenance?

Total transparency- they aren’t for everyone! The cost can range from 250$ for minimal volume and no length all the way up to 2200+! (I have more info on my extension page in my bio if you want the details on that.)
2) If they are installed properly, they are not damaging! I have so many clients that have actually had their hair get SO MUCH healthier because they are taking care of their hair so much more with the extensions in! A proper install is so important though, I have also fixed many extension installs that were causing damage from improper installs or from people that don’t have proper training in extensions. I have worn extensions for several years, so i know exactly what makes them comfortable and I also know how painful they can be if they aren’t installed properly! And yes- you can have thin hair AND have extensions without damage ☺️ and it can be the biggest confidence boost! 3) maintenance on extensions is every 6-8 weeks! Each row takes about an hour to take out and reinstall. The hair will last 8 months- a year if taken care of properly.

Would you ever guess there’s 20” extensions on this girlies head? Me neither 🥵 let me answer some of the most common extension questions I get!
My #1 question is “how much do they cost?” Well, the answer is it truly does vary so much! BUT it can be as inexpensive as 200$ if you just want a little fullness! My most common extension install is actually 400$ for the hair! It adds plenty of fullness and if you’re lucky, maybe even a little bit of length! For a full volume and lots of length added look, the hair can be around $1600.
My second most common question is “how long does the hair last?” And honestly that varies quite a bit too depending on the care you take at home with it. If you’re using a lot of heat and washing them daily and not using appropriate products, they may only last you a few months. On the other hand, I have clients that have had their hair for over a year and it still feels great! At home care is truly EVERYTHING 🥰
Last but not least-“are they damaging?” And the answer to that is, no- but they can be if not taken care of properly. If you don’t come in for your regular move ups the hair can start to be heavy, or if you’re wearing them up tight a lot they will pull on your corners and over time cause tender scalps😮‍💨

20” hand tied extensions yesterday for this girly! Here are my top 5 tips for maintaining healthy extensions!

•make sure you keep them brushed well! Tangly extensions will always break more than extensions that are well kept, as aggressive brushing to get tangles out will cause breakage!

•sulfate free shampoo and conditioner are a must!

•keep your heat low! 300 degrees or lower is optimal to maintain the integrity

•steer clear of purple shampoo and conditioner. Extensions soak up the purple tone much quicker than your blonde will!

•make sure you keep your maintenance appointments! Going beyond the reccomended time for your move ups can cause breakage on your own hair, which we of course do NOT want :) healthy scalps=healthy hair!

They are pretty easy to handle on the day to day, and for the most part my clients get them for fullness! Have you been curious about extensions?
