Tiffany Dezotell has been a long-time guest getting her braids done and the occasional silk press.

It's these moments that make retirement so hard for me! I love what I do. Curl care, protective styles, and product knowledge are my passion.

I have cherished every single day of the last 26 years, and whatever the future holds for me, I will make sure to embrace it with both hands as well.

As for today, though, please enjoy Tiffany's kick ass triangle base braids!

It was a pleasure working on their hair today. It was also a bittersweet day since it will be the last time because I am retiring due to illness.

The worst part of the whole situation was that I had to explain to their sister how to maintain this style because no local stylist provides these types of services.

Every one of my curl and coil guests is going through the same thing. They are struggling because they have no new salon home.

Education in curl and coil is VITAL in this industry. Everything from cleansing to protective styles to product knowledge and everything in between.

I had been thinking for such a long time about what I wanted out of my career and what I wanted to be known for. A long talk with a guest put it into perspective for me. I am not ready to lay out any plans or share any thoughts about the future of Hair by Tonja just yet. I just know that while I will continue to provide the color services expected of a certified master colorist. I will be shifting my focus somewhat and will be working with brands that will support and align with that shift. Please continue to support my page as I will have updates that will continue the growth of not only my business but the leap into the best of what the industry can offer.
